What if it is raining the day my job is scheduled?
If it raining in the morning we will make a decision based on local radar and forecasts. We however can start demolition of your driveway and then as the day goes on make a decision to complete the job or pour concrete the next workday.

How thick do you make the driveways?
We pour newly replaced concrete driveways between 4" or 5" thick (depending on Village codes)

What is Six Bag Mix?
Refers to the standard general use 4000 PSI concrete mix for most exterior residential flatwork, including driveways, patios, walk ways, and Stoops..Many local municipal construction codes require a six-bag mix for residential flatwork.

What kind of guarantee do you have?
We guarantee all materials and workmanship to be the best quality available. We guarantee that we will perform all concrete work as specified in our contract.

Do you accept credit cards?
SWC Concrete does not accept credit cards we do accept personal checks.

What is your scope of work?
SWC. Inc is a residential concrete contractor specializing concrete driveway replacement. We are quite capable of pouring concrete steps, sidewalks, porches, and other concrete structures such as footings and foundations.

Why does my newly placed concrete have spots?
During the curing process your concrete may under go changes in appearance. The spots you see are the aggregate that are at the surface. As the concrete cures your driveway will become lighter and these spots will disappear.

How long will it take to install my new concrete driveway?
Most concrete driveways are removed and replaced within 2 days. Removal of the forms happen on the 2ndnd day.

Why is it important to hire a licensed contractor?
Contractors who perform home improvements who are not licensed are breaking the law. Hiring an unlicensed contractor can cause you unnecessary hardship. You have no recourse against an unlicensed contractor if you have any grievance.

When will my work be scheduled?
Normally we give you a tentative date and when the date approaches we will contact you to confirm the actual date.

When can I use my new driveway?
Depending on the temperature you can use your new concrete driveway 7 to 10 days after the concrete has been poured. 7 days during the hotter months of the summer and 10 days during the milder temperatures of the spring and fall.

Is there any guarantee against newly poured concrete cracking?
Unfortunately there is no guarantee against cracking. We do everything in our power to minimize the cracks and encourage the concrete to crack at predetermined locations. We follow all City and Village Codes, But even with all of this, the concrete could develop a random crack all on its own.
